Discovering a Formula for your F.A.I.T.H.
Faith, if it can be seen fully, is not faith.
Faith is illusive and often difficult to find and hold. Our Creators knew this, and inspired the apostle Paul to write that “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.” (I Cor. 13:12) This was just after he admonished us to live our lives with faith, hope, and love. So, “Is there a formula for finding and maintaining faith?”
“Yes”, our Creators have provided a pathway for our discovery and fulfillment of faith.
“No”, in that the pathway is not always sequenced the same and each person must face their own challenges on the journey, so sometimes the same pathway looks different. Much like all relationships have their unique dynamics, your faith, or pathway to a personal relationship with your Creators, will have a unique story. Still, the steps will be similar as they speak to our lives in the Word.
Your faith journey will not be logical.
Because faith transcends reason, Paul likened it to a mirror. When Abraham went to sacrifice his son, it was beyond reason – yet faith rewarded him with the confidence that God will provide. When a sky diver leaps from a plane, it also holds risk and challenges to reason (although the results are not a certain as when putting your faith in the Creators’ words). Living a life with faith requires following the uncertain reflections that come from your relationship with our Creators (as in a mirror) and following what we see through their instructions. Thus, finding faith, in this or any formula starts with “H”, or “Hearing God’s Word” and proceeds through “faith logic” to “F”, the three “Fruits (or gifts) of Faith” – Forgiveness, Freedom, and Fulfillment. We always start with truth. Regardless of your personal pathway to faith, you will recognize it's impact on your life - the ability to not know or understand yet still be surrendered and fulfilled!
Your faith formula is both similar and unique.
Although our Creators desire a relationship with you and require certain things on your part (like any meaningful relationship), the exact starting point is not as important as making sure each element of faith is included. Here is a proven pathway, or F.A.I.T.H. Formula, that works! Steps are repeated daily in your journey through the many phases of your life.
↑H↓ – Hearing God’s Word. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17
↑ T↓ – Trusting over understanding. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5
↑ I ↓ – Invitation Choice. “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20
↑ A↓ – All or Nothing. “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
↑ F↓ – Fruits of Forgiveness, Freedom, and Fulfillment. Result: A personal relationship in faith, hope, and love with our Creators!
